Terms of Service
Last updated: September 13, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account and using Qualibr, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Qualibr is
Qualibr is a research assistance tool that uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to analyze qualitative text materials using various analytical methods. It assists your analysis — it does not replace researcher judgment.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when registering. You may not share your account or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
4. Your content and your responsibilities as data controller
You own your content. Anything you upload remains yours. We do not claim ownership over your research materials, codes, or outputs.
You are the data controller for research respondent data. By uploading research materials, you confirm that:
- You have the legal right to process and share this content with a third-party AI service (Anthropic)
- You have obtained all necessary consents from research respondents for AI-assisted processing of their data
- Where applicable, you have a lawful basis under Article 6 GDPR, and where your content contains special categories of personal data (Article 9 GDPR), you have an additional lawful basis for such processing
- Your use complies with any ethical guidelines from your institution, IRB, or research context
Sensitive and special categories of data. If your materials contain special categories of personal data under GDPR Article 9 — health information, ethnic or racial origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, data concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation, or immigration and refugee status — you take on heightened responsibility to ensure this processing is lawful. We strongly recommend consulting your institution's data protection officer or ethics board before uploading such materials.
Confirmation at upload. When uploading research materials, you will be asked to confirm that you have the right to process and share the content with our AI service, and that you have obtained all necessary consents from respondents. This confirmation is a condition of using the analysis feature.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Qualibr to:
- Upload materials you do not have the right to process
- Circumvent security measures or attempt to access other users' data
- Reverse engineer, copy, or resell the service
- Upload illegal content or content that violates third-party rights
6. AI-generated content and limitations
Qualibr uses AI to generate codes, categories, quotes, and insights. AI outputs may contain errors, including incorrect quote attribution, hallucinated text, or misinterpretation of meaning. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before using it in your research.
7. Service availability and data loss
We will make reasonable efforts to keep Qualibr available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. AI analysis may fail due to upstream issues (e.g., Anthropic API downtime). We are not liable for lost work resulting from service interruptions.
Re-running analysis: Running analysis again only processes materials that are new or that previously failed — it does not delete or reprocess materials, codes, or categories from an earlier run. Any manual edits you have made (renaming or moving a code, adding your own codes or categories) are preserved and are not overwritten by a later run. You can also refresh AI-generated categories and insights at any time without reprocessing your materials at all. AI-generated categories and insights are recalculated each time you do this and may change as a result, but this never affects your manual edits or the underlying coded text.
8. Pricing
Qualibr uses a credit-based pricing model. Analysis is charged in credits based on the length of your materials and their type; re-running analysis on materials that were already successfully processed with the same method is free (see Section 7). The current plans are:
| Plan | Price | Credits | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 20 | One-time grant on signup |
| Project Pass Mini | €18 | 150 | One-time purchase, credits valid for 12 months |
| Project Pass Standard | €48 | 400 | One-time purchase, credits valid for 12 months |
| Project Pass Large | €156 | 1300 | One-time purchase, credits valid for 12 months |
| Pro Lite | €35/month | 300/month | Subscription; unused credits roll over one additional month, up to your monthly limit |
| Pro | €75/month | 750/month | Subscription; unused credits roll over one additional month, up to your monthly limit |
Additional credits can be purchased by Pro and Pro Lite subscribers as top-ups (100 credits/€10, 250/€25, 500/€50); top-up credits do not expire. Unused credits from the Free plan or an unused Project Pass are not lost when you upgrade to a paid plan — they carry over the same way rollover credits do.
Qualibr offers a 25% discount on all plans for verified students, researchers, faculty, and small nonprofit organizations ("Academic License" / "Nonprofit License"), subject to a verification process described at signup. Verification is valid for 365 days and must be renewed after expiry to continue receiving the discounted price on future purchases.
Prices shown do not include VAT or applicable sales tax. Tax is calculated and added at checkout based on your location by our payment provider.
8a. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer (acting outside a trade, business, craft, or profession) resident in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 calendar days without giving any reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the Digital Content and Digital Services Directive (EU) 2019/770, and Spain's TRLGDCU.
Qualibr's paid plans — both one-time Project Passes and subscriptions — are a digital service, not digital content supplied as a fixed file or licence: the platform processes the specific material you upload, for as long as your pass or subscription remains active. The exception that lets a trader treat the withdrawal right as extinguished once performance begins at the customer's request applies only to digital content, so it does not apply to Qualibr.
Instead: if you ask us to begin providing the service immediately rather than waiting out the 14-day period, and you later withdraw within that period, you will owe an amount proportionate to what you used before withdrawing, calculated against the price you paid — for credit-based plans, this is the proportion of credits you used out of the credits granted by that purchase. You owe nothing beyond this proportionate amount, and nothing at all if you withdraw before using any credits.
At the point of purchase, you will be asked to confirm that you want the service to begin immediately and that you understand this consequence of withdrawing afterward.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, contact us at qualibr.dev@gmail.com within 14 days of your purchase.
8b. Refunds and cancellation
Within the 14-day withdrawal period (Section 8a): you may withdraw and receive a refund of the price you paid, minus a proportionate charge for any credits you have already used.
After the 14-day withdrawal period: Project Passes and subscription payments already made are non-refundable, except where required by law.
Cancelling a subscription (Pro Lite, Pro) stops future billing at any time; you keep access to the service and any remaining credits for the rest of the period you have already paid for, and it will not renew afterward. We do not provide partial refunds for the unused portion of a billing period outside the withdrawal period above.
Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, reserves the right to issue a refund on our behalf at its own discretion — including outside the terms above — where it determines this is necessary to resolve a payment dispute or prevent a chargeback.
Payment processing is not yet connected. Plans and prices above, and the policies in this Section 8, 8a, and 8b, are shown for transparency ahead of launch; you cannot yet purchase a paid plan or top-up in the application. Once payment processing is enabled, any changes affecting existing users will be communicated in advance, in accordance with Section 12.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the application settings. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently and immediately deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
It is your responsibility to export or back up any data you want to keep before deleting your account or a project. Once deletion is complete, we cannot recover your data, and we are not liable for any loss resulting from a deletion you requested.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Qualibr is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:
- Loss of research data resulting from service interruptions or user error
- Errors in AI-generated codes, quotes, or analysis
- Actions you take based on AI-generated outputs
- Unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to protect your credentials
- Any processing of personal data you conduct without appropriate legal basis
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
12. Changes to these Terms
We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
